About this freebie
The Photo Strip Template is a free layered page template for your everyday projects. The download gives you 8 PNG layers sized at 3600 x 3600 pixels. These stack to build a 12 x 12 inch page at 300 dpi. You will find gray shapes marking spots for three tall photos on a horizontal paper band. The layout also includes designated areas for a title, journaling and an element spot. A flattened guide JPG and a text file show the correct layer order. This simple design works well for highlighting a sequence of pictures.
Ideas for using it
- Use the three 3.2 x 5.6 inch photo spots to show a sequence of events. This works nicely for a morning routine or a short walk.
- Fill the paper band layer with a bright pattern. Add solid colors to the background to make your three photos stand out clearly.
- Place three portraits of the same person in the tall photo spots. Add their name in the title space and write a short story in the journaling area.
How to use it
- Read our guide on how to use page templates to get started. You just need an image editor that supports layers to arrange the 8 PNG files.
- Stack the files according to the included text file. The background goes on the bottom, followed by the paper band and then the three photo spots.
- Use your software tools to clip your photos to the gray shapes. This keeps your pictures perfectly sized at 3.2 x 5.6 inches without manual cropping.
- The 0.6 MB ZIP file contains a flattened guide JPG. Keep this image open on your screen as a quick visual reference while you build your layout.
- Place every PNG layer at the top left corner of a 12 x 12 inch, 300 dpi page and they line up.
- Clip a paper or a photo to each gray shape, then delete or hide the gray.
