About this freebie
The Four Square Grid Template helps you build a tidy layout quickly. This free download from Free Digital Scrapbooking includes 7 PNG layers stacked to create a 12 x 12 inch page. You get gray shapes marking spots for three 4.6 x 4.6 inch photos, a paper-block, a title, and journaling.
This everyday design works well for simple, clean pages. The ZIP file is about 0.6 MB and includes a flattened guide JPG along with a text file listing the layer order.
Ideas for using it
- Document a morning routine with three photos of your coffee, breakfast, and reading material. Add the date and a short story in the journaling block.
- Create a quick layout about a pet. Use the three 4.6 x 4.6 inch photo spots for sleeping pictures and write about their habits.
- Make a simple birthday page. Fill the grid with pictures of the cake, the gifts, and the guest of honor, then add a festive title.
- Show off a garden project by placing progress photos in the three square spots. Use the paper-block layer for a bright floral pattern.
How to use it
- Open all 7 PNG layers in your software and stack them in the order listed in the text file. The background layer goes at the very bottom.
- Use clipping masks to attach your pictures to the gray shapes. If you are new to this, read our guide on how to use page templates.
- You can resize the 4.6 x 4.6 inch photo spots if you need more room for your journaling block. Just scale the layers down together.
- Place every PNG layer at the top left corner of a 12 x 12 inch, 300 dpi page and they line up.
- Clip a paper or a photo to each gray shape, then delete or hide the gray.
