About this freebie
The Diagonal Layers Template gives your layouts an easy collage look. This free download includes 7 PNG layers stacked to create tilted paper layers behind 1 photo. You get a background, paper spots, a title area, journaling space, and an element spot.
Each layer is 3600 x 3600 pixels to build a standard 12 x 12 page at 300 dpi. The 0.7 MB file also includes a flattened guide JPG and a text file listing the layer order. It is a great choice for everyday projects.
Ideas for using it
- Document a fun afternoon at home. Use a candid snapshot for the 7.2 x 5.4 photo spot and fill the tilted paper layers with bright, cheerful patterns.
- Create a quick layout about your pets. Add a large photo of your dog or cat, then type a short story in the journaling spot.
- Make a digital scrapbook page about a favorite meal. Place a picture of the food in the photo spot and list the recipe in the journaling space.
How to use it
- Check the included text file to see the exact layer order. The background goes on the bottom, followed by the paper layers and then your photo.
- Use clipping masks to attach your patterned digital papers to the gray shapes. Read clipping masks explained if this technique is new to you.
- Add a single digital flower or button to the element spot. This simple touch adds interest without covering up the large 7.2 x 5.4 photo.
- Shrink the 12 x 12 template to fit smaller projects. The terms allow you to use this file for cards and layouts you sell or give away.
- Place every PNG layer at the top left corner of a 12 x 12 inch, 300 dpi page and they line up.
- Clip a paper or a photo to each gray shape, then delete or hide the gray.
